Howard's bikes

Howard is the Bantam Club's dating officer.  Two of his bikes look very similar to me, but they are, apparently, different.  There are members who could present me with this dilema and I wouldn't blink, let alone stay awake at night worrying about the accuracy, but given Howard's position, I'd better get this one right!

D14/4

I have owned this bike since 2007, and have covered approx 700 miles on it. The bike has matching engine and frame numbers and still carries it's original number. The "bike only" pictures are when I first bought it, the other two are to prove some of us do ride our bikes!

Blue D10 1967

I Aquired this bike as a swap for a 14/4 engine and some other spares, the bike had been off the road since 1988 but did come with a V5C, which makes life a lot easier. It was pretty much there apart from a few odds and ends, and the overall condition was not too bad, this one took approx three weeks to refurbish, new battery, resprayed tin ware, engine check and new cables where required. The bike started second kick, which wasn't bad after 22 years. It would have passed its MOT first time if I had not forgotten to reattach the pillion foot rest I rode it for just under 200 miles before I was made an offer I could not refuse.

A couple of before shots and three after resoration shots.

Black D7 1959

Bought as a field bike, this bike was originally fitted with a D5 engine and it underwent a total rebuild. Now sold to fund the next project. First picture shows the bike as I bought it subsequent pictures show it under construction, and then the finished bike

Red D7 Super

This is the latest set of pictures I have from Howard's (decreasingly spacious, I suspect) stable.  It's a D7 Super - the first picture is how it appeared before any work had been done, the rest are of the finished article
